Meeting Review: Native Plant Garden
As always, thank you to everyone who came to Monday's meeting! I apologize for the Butterfly Project / Hummingbird Project / Native Plant Garden confusion. For those who were not present, we met in Mr. Stiven's room with Humanities Conservatory and a few others to discuss the vertical and horizontal aspects of the native plant garden next to the C building stairs; however, in her email notifying me of the meeting, Ms. Slijk accidentally said it was for the Hummingbird Project, and then I made a typo in my email to you all and said it was for the Butterly Project (which, unlike the Hummingbird Project, does not even exist). . . . Anyway, I apologize for any confusion that may have resulted. =)
Anyway, as we planned before, we will be building a native plant garden with raised beds in the C building dirt plot. We will also be collaborating with Humanities Conservatory, who will be working on a corresponding vertical garden on the wall behind. Hopefully we will be able to begin construction on the beds within the next few weeks; I just want to get a definite okay from Mr. Mueller before we get started. I sent an email to him a couple of weeks ago, and although he has not yet responded, but I sent him another email today in case the last one got lost under other messages.
As always, we will have recycling this Friday after school; meet next to the C building stairs! Also, start brainstorming current environmental problems we have in our community (e.g., lack of public transportation, littering, etc.) to further our discussion on the Lexus Eco Challenge during Monday's meeting. =)
